- Mr. Pervez Nasim has been working on various Muslim Community-related
matters/projects for over 25 years. He is sincere, honest and a very
dedicated man.
- He is an active member of the community in Toronto, Canada. In fact,
he is one of those very few Muslim pioneers involved in community projects,
especially for Muslim youths (sports, games, picnics) as part of a mosque,
Islamic school, or any other community activities.
- Mr. Pervez is originally from Delhi, India.
- He comes from a noble & well-known Muslim business family from
Delhi, India. Though, his family migrated to Pakistan, Karachi, he still
maintains his roots and ties in India. His late father was closely associated
with Muslim scholars & was a renowned person in Delhi, both in business
as well as in Muslim scholarly circles.
- By profession, Mr. Pervez is an accountant (a member of a Professional
Accounting Association in Canada); however, he is keenly interested
in and has been actively involved in various facets of Muslim community
of Toronto & Canada.
- The progress of the Islamic Cooperative Housing Corporation (which
was started almost twenty years ago with a couple of Muslim brothers)
is now an institution with over $25 million in assets, and membership
spread across North America, the Middle East & different parts of
the world. This is a testimony of Allah’s blessings and acceptance
of Br. Pervez’s dedication and sincere hard work.
- He is a team player and has developed close working relationships
in Canada, the US, the UK, and other overseas countries.
- Mr. Pervez is a family man. He is married with three children, (two
sons and a daughter).
is professional experience include teaching at University of Rochester,
California Institute of Technology, University of Wisconsin, and currently
at Rice University. He has also worked as an Economist with the International
Monetary Fund.
